Remembering Dwayne “DJ” Johnston
Today, we say goodbye to one of our Donnelly Farms family members—Dwayne Johnston, or as we all knew him, “DJ.”
DJ was one of our mechanics here at Donnelly Farms until his retirement in 2023. He joined our team in 2009 and, over the years, became a highly respected and valued part of our crew.
DJ was a hard worker. His day started long before most of us even arrived. That first truck had to be over the pit at 7:00 a.m., or, in DJ’s words, he was already behind schedule! LOL.
And if a truck wouldn’t start on a cold winter morning, you could almost hear him saying, “Tell those drivers to plug their trucks in—I don’t have time to boost them!”
You never saw DJ just strolling around. He was always on the move, always busy, and always getting the job done. His dedication to his work was something everyone noticed and respected.
More than just a mechanic, DJ became part of the Donnelly Farms family. He was loved, respected, and appreciated by everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.
His hard work, his sense of humor, and his unmistakable presence will be deeply missed around here.
Rest in peace, DJ.

Donnelly Farms is looking for a diesel mechanic to fill positions at our shop. We have 3 bays to service our own units. The applicant should have experience in truck and or trailer repair. A licensed mechanic with a class 1 license would be preferred but not necessary . Pay will be based on experience. Donnelly Farms offers a health plan and company pension . The shifts are from Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm but could be changed to weekends if the need arises. There is on-call work that is shared with the other mechanics.
